What I Found in My Desk

A fun, old Wii,
A bizzy-buzzing bumblebee,
A flat, worn basketball,
A thousand leaves I collected last fall,
A squished cockroach that’s turning green,
And the queen of beans,
And something I must confess—
A note from my friend, Ben,
“What a pigpen!”

Red buds
Dry
Twisting branches
Yeah!
Green!
Goodbye, brown.
Warm
Refreshing
Blue

Beautiful
Strong
Thank You, Lord!

Letter to Lewis and Clark

Posted on May 6, 2012 in Uncategorized by QRS

Dear Lewis and Clark,

How big was your dog? How were you so wise that you brought just the right people with you instead of going by yourself? One of those people was York, who was a black man and the only black man on your team. I wish I had been with you. Then I could explore all the way to the Pacific Ocean too. I really like your dog Seaman a lot. I wish I could meet Indians with you and trade with them (but not the dog!) I hope you liked your adventure.

If I got asked by the President of the United States to go on a great exploration, I would want to go to the mountains. I would want to see animals and plants. I would have a dog with me like Seaman. I would have a gun, a bow and arrows, and a coonskin cap. It would be a dangerous journey, and I would have one hundred men, ten dogs, and fifteen rowboats and flatbottoms along with me.

Sincerely,
QRS

Mid Vermont’s Psalm of Praise!

Posted on December 21, 2011 in Uncategorized by QRS

A Mid Vermont

Psalm of Praise

written by all

of the preschoolers

through sixth graders,

along with many teachers

and parents

God is like a strong wind,

     Powerful and mighty.

God is like a soft wind,

     Gentle and refreshing.

God is like an eraser,

for he erases all our sins.

God is like the full moon

because He is big and bright

and directs us

through dark places.

Jesus is like stairs

because He leads us to God

from earth to Heaven.

God is a turtle shell

because He is a strong protector

and He shelters us from harm.

God is a shade

by the way He protects us

from the world

and shades us

from those who may tempt us.

God wrote His love letter to us

with a permanent marker

so that it will never go away

and it won’t come off our hearts.

God is as creative as a potter making pots.

God is the Light of the world

because He lights our path

and leads us

while we are following Him.

Burning Bush

I am fragile.

I am sharp.

I am crimson.

I look like I have lava bubbling out of my trunk.

I have lonely leaves left here and there on my branches.

I am the burning bush.

Snow

Chill and puff.

Ice and crystals and storming snow.

Little white bugs everywhere.

Cool, fun, and cold.

Reminds me of my holy God.

Pure.

When I was in my home reading my book, I heard something outside.  It sounded like this r-r-r-r-umble.

It was my grandfather starting the go-cart.  I got my helmet and ran out.  He was there.  It wasn’t started going yet.  My gramp said it needed more gas.  When he put more gas in, he pushed a red button a few times.  It started!  It was loud.  I put my helmet on.  I got on the go-cart.  We rode it.  It was fast.

After I was done, I went and played inside with Legos.  Then I went and played on the computer.  Home is nice.
